Portal AZ Lodging

We offer thirteen housekeeping units which sleep from 2 to 8 people: six comfortable cottages, two lodges with three apartments each, and the Ranch House. All units have private bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchens, heaters/furnaces, and air conditioning/evaporative coolers.  High Season is February through November. Low Season is December and January. Three night minimum in all units in April and May, three night minimum year round in Ranch House, Stone Cottage, Canyon View, and Apt 3. Two nights the rest of the year for the other cabins and apartments.

Dogs: Regretfully we cannot allow dogs. This is a wildlife sanctuary, and the deer, javelinas, coatis, etc., are very aware of a dog’s presence, even on a leash, and make themselves scarce.  Javelinas attack dogs.  Several nearby places welcome dogs.

Beds: Many of our units have 2 twin beds that can be made into a king. This is done with a “twin doubler”: strapping the two twin mattresses together, then adding a strip of fleece down the middle before the king mattress pad goes on.  They are comfortable.
